Product characteristics
MGDA is a trisodium methylglycine diacetate salt, abbreviated as MGDA-Na3, also known as trisodium dicarboxymethylalanine, which is a small molecule chelating agent, similar in structure to NTA, but non-toxic, and easy to biodegrade.
MGDA is a new phosphorus-free green degradable chelating agent that replaces traditional phosphonates, EDTA, and NTA.
(1) Fabric detergent
MGDA is particularly effective in heavy detergents, laundry detergents, and soap-based detergents, especially for stubborn stains such as natural oils, sebum, blood, milk, ink, and dirt and proteins. The formula contains fatty acids and soap detergents, which are very easy to form soap scale with calcium and magnesium ions in the water, which are deposited on the surface of the fabric, causing a sour odor and reducing wettability. MGDA effectively tackles stains formed by calcium soap and prevents re-deposition of calcium soap.
(2) Phosphorus-free dishwasher detergent
After the implementation of phosphorus ban and restriction measures in various countries, various phosphorus substitute additives appeared. The use of phosphorus-free formulas for automatic dishwashing detergents will cause detergent film formation and stain removal performance to decrease, and the use of MGDA can narrow the performance gap between the two. For stubborn stains, such as starch and protein in food, MGDA has been proven to be highly effective in commercial phosphorus-free dishwashing detergent formulations, especially on tea stains.
(3) Cleaning of inorganic sediment
MGDA can convert insoluble compounds into water-soluble substances, and has good solubility in inorganic precipitates. It is better for old and dry calcium stains. Cleaning calcium carbonate scale: using added acids (such as hydrochloric acid, citric acid, etc.) to generate carbon dioxide to remove calcium ions, which is not suitable for closed systems and easily corrosive systems. The formation of soluble complexes using chelating agents such as MGDA is done without associated problems and can prevent new calcium carbonate stains from forming. Cleaning calcium phosphate scale: For example, during milk processing, insoluble calcium phosphate precipitate will be formed, which is not easy to clean, and MGDA's complexing ability to it exceeds that of other degradable complexing agents.
(4) Biodegradable and can improve the cleaning effect of household and industrial detergents and cleaners.
MGDA is alkaline, pay attention to labor protection during operation, avoid contact with skin, eyes, etc., and rinse with plenty of water after contact.
